About the Event
Join the Love My Life Gala — a powerful night of hope, connection & support for Indigenous youth mental health & suicide prevention.
Welcome to the Love My Life Club Gala!
Dr. Peter Eppinga, known in his Haida culture as Gut Guulee (“Golden Eagle”), is a dedicated medical doctor and advocate for Indigenous health. A proud member of the Old Masset community in Haida Gwaii, Peter currently resides in Abbotsford, BC, where he operates two Gwaii Medical clinics serving the Lower Mainland.
Peter's path to advocacy began in grief—first through the tragic suicide of a local basketball player he had just seen full of life, and later with the loss of his own cousin. These heartbreaks, and the rising number of suicides in Indigenous communities, inspired him to create Love My Life ( LML) : a movement to raise awareness, foster hope, and prevent suicide through early mental health education and leadership.
With the belief that suicide is 100% preventable , Peter uses his medical voice to speak up for:
As part of this mission, Peter authored the children's book “ I Love My Life” to inspire imagination, confidence, and resilience in young people.
To continue this life-saving work, Dr. Eppinga is proud to present the Love My Life Gala — an evening of purpose, inspiration, and community.
The Love My Life Gala is more than an event — it's a movement to support youth suicide prevention and empower the next generation with hope. Enjoy a night of connection, powerful storytelling, and fundraising for mental health programs rooted in Indigenous strength and resilience
