About the Event
The pity party you actually want to go to. A space to celebrate, commiserate, and honour the moms who made us.
For those without moms, Mother's Day can feel like a day to get through rather than a day to celebrate. But instead of sitting it out, we're reclaiming it—by gathering, sharing, and honouring the women who shaped us.
Welcome to Motherless Day.
A gathering for those without mothers, in support of the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health (CAMH).
Join us for a meaningful event filled with connection, creativity, and community. We'll share stories over food & drinks, create memory collages, hear from the writer of My Dead Mom (Crave), press flowers, and more. Most importantly, we'll spend the day with people who truly get it—without needing to say a word (though let's be honest, we'll have plenty to say!).
Programming includes: *Speaking engagement by Wendy Litner, Writer of My Dead Mom (Crave) *Collaging by Alanna of Love, Issues Magazine *On-site live poetry by Ars Poetica *Journaling & card-writing *Bouquet-building & flower-pressing * The best of pastries, smoothies, broth, and beverages by local vendors ...and so much more!
PS - just like how grief doesn't end when the day does, neither does this experience. You'll take home a tote filled with meaningful keepsakes—small, intentional reminders that our moms' love and memories live on.
