Well Read Sistas is bringing our Sistahood to Octavia's Bookshelf â a beloved Black woman-owned bookstore in Pasadena that honors the legacy of Octavia E. Butler and embodies everything we stand for: community, creativity, and connection through Black women's stories.
đĄ Why This Matters:
Across the country, independent Black bookstores are fighting to keep their doors open. These spaces aren't just shopsâthey're sanctuaries for our stories and safe havens for our voices. Through our new Well Read Sistas Bookstore Initiative, we're partnering with bookstores like Octavia's Bookshelf to host monthly book club chats that drive visibility, community, and salesâwhile keeping the pages of Black women's literature turning.
