About the Event
The Learning Garden is planted, so NOW it is time to decorate the garden for the season.
Join us as we create artwork for the Sprouts Learning Garden. Come and enjoy a lovely evening watching the talented young DGC Sprouts artists create! We have a couple of projects for the kids to work on at our June meeting.
- Each child will have the opportunity to paint a stepping stone to leave in the garden. We'll provide the 12x12 concrete stones. When complete we'll place in the garden to mark the pathways.
- We'll paint garden markers to identify our crops. All supplies provided.
- While we have the paint mess why not paint a few buckets for you to take home and place in your yards for the “The Mosquito Bucket Challenge”. Bring along a large bucket or any size container you'd like to use for your trap. See below for how you can...Stop the bite! Save the buzz!
Be sure to wear painting smocks, bring your creativity and come prepared for the mess.
Don't miss out on this unique experience! Mark your calendars, bring your friends and family along for a memorable evening of art and community in the Learning Garden.
Notes:
All are welcome to attend.
We will meet in the learning garden.

Mosquito fogging kills nearly everything in your yard...except mosquitoes.
If you're working to create a thriving, biodiverse yard full of life, it doesn't make sense to kill it all with fogging!
The Mosquito Bucket Challenge is a simple, visible way to protect pollinators, birds, frogs, fireflies, and your family—without toxic sprays. By safely targeting mosquito larvae, each bucket helps save the wildlife that fogging puts at risk. Be sure to read ALL of the details to the bottom of the page here.
Bring along a large bucket or any size container you'd like to use for your trap. You can follow the instructions for luring mosquitos to the bucket to meet their demise. We'll provide a mosquito dunk to get you started.
Please be sure to place a cover or netting on the top to prevent accidents and put holes in the side of the bucket to prevent overflow when it rains.
