About the Event
Join us for art on Saturday & a Sunday panel celebrating Juneteenth & the 108th commemoration of the 1917 East St. Louis Race Massacre.
Join us for art and conversation in recognition of Juneteenth and the 108th commemoration of the 1917 East St. Louis Race Massacre!
The Community Archive, The Sunshine Cultural Arts Center, and The East Side Arts Collective will join forces to present a dynamic cultural remembrance initiative designed to honor the resilience of Black communities, illuminate untold histories, and uplift intergenerational voices through storytelling, public art, and education.
Saturday, June 21 will feature an art opening and reception at 4pm. Join us for libation and community as we admire art from local Black artists, curated by East St. Louis's own Allena Brazier.
Sunday, June 22 will feature a 3 pm panel of descendants of survivors of the 1917 East St. Louis Race Massacre. Come be in conversation with us as we plot a way forward through East St. Louis's history of resilience. FREE
