Master the art of chairside milling materials to create stunning, natural-looking restorations!
Description:
Chairside milling materials have evolved, making esthetic full contour anterior restorations a reality for the chairside CAD/CAM system. In this program, you will learn techniques to produce high quality esthetic restorations that harmonize with the adjacent natural teeth.
This course will cover contouring and texturing techniques for lithium disilicate in the "blue state" as well as highlight the proper burs and tools to achieve natural looking restorations. Additionally, finishing techniques for posterior zirconia restorations made with IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime block will be performed. Participants will walk away understanding color theory and its practical application for block selection, shading, and characterization.
Topics Covered Will Include:
-Creating the contour, anatomy, and surface texture of natural teeth
anterior region
-Shading and staining techniques to blend with natural dentition
-Discussion of the theory of color and proper block selection
Instructor:
Jerry Varner, CDT, has over 26 years' experience as a dental laboratory technician and educator. He received his training as a dental technician in the United States Navy, Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas in 1998. Prior to joining Ivoclar Vivadent, Inc., Jerry taught Dental Laboratory Technology at the Department of Defense Dental Laboratory School at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. In addition, he also served as dental technician in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. After his retirement from the Air Force in 2016 he worked for the Department of Defense at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada as a dental technician and later joined Ivoclar as a Technical Consultant working in the Technical Services and Education Department. As a Technical Consultant Jerry provides education programs on the proper utilization of Ivoclar technical products throughout the United States and Canada. Other key responsibilities include technical product phone support and troubleshooting.
