English (French follows):

Experience the power of Canadian outdoor films at the first annual Ottawa Outdoor Film Festival!

Embark on a cinematic journey into Canada's wild spaces at the Ottawa Outdoor Film Festival! Join us at the iconic Bytowne Cinema on Rideau on November 15th for an unforgettable evening celebrating adventure, conservation, and diversity through compelling Canadian short films.

Prepare to be captivated by a diverse lineup, including:

• Wildflowers: Mountain writer and historian Meghan J. Ward recruits a team of creative women to revisit Mary SchƤffer Warren's 1908 expedition to Maligne Lake, in Alberta's Jasper National Park. Blending backcountry adventures with historical research, Wildflowers demonstrates that sometimes we must look back to blaze a better trail forward.

• TraversĆ©es (Passages): Immerse yourself in this evocative film, also crafted by talented women adventurers and filmmakers. Watch as five women attempt to cross Kuururjuaq Park in northern Quebec. They follow a 160-kilometer route used by Inuit hunters for millennia. This crossing quickly becomes a discovery of themselves.

• Electric Greg: Record-breaking mountain endurance athlete Greg Hill has never shied away from a goal. Through his time spent in the mountains, he's seen the effects of climate change first-hand and came to realize the way he was approaching the mountains was only making the problem worse. He changed his approach and set out to climb 100 peaks without burning any fossil fuels. But the question is: will it make a difference?

From thrilling expeditions to powerful stories about protecting our natural ecosystems, this festival offers a unique opportunity to connect with the beauty and importance of Canada's outdoors and the dedicated individuals who explore and safeguard it.

More than just entertainment, the Ottawa Outdoor Film Festival proudly supports the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, Ottawa Valley Chapter (CPAWS-OV). Proceeds will directly support their crucial work to protect the National Capital Greenbelt and champion Gatineau Park.

By attending, you'll celebrate Canadian talent, connect with fellow nature lovers, and contribute to vital conservation efforts right here in the Ottawa region. Don't miss this special event! Get your tickets now and let the films ignite your passion for the Canadian outdoors!

Ward recrute une Ć©quipe de femmes crĆ©atives pour revisiter l'expĆ©dition de Mary SchƤffer Warren au lac Maligne en 1908, dans le parc national Jasper en Alberta.
