About the Event

Ecstatic Dance is a freeform, conscious dance practice and sound journey, facilitated by live DJs.

On Saturday, May 10th, as Spring finally begins to feel like Summer, we invite you to join us in kicking-off another year of Ecstatic Dances in Kitchener-Waterloo. After one year of growing and establishing this Dance, we're excited to be returning with fresh inspiration, beautifully supported by a community devoted to making this movement thrive.

This month, on the cusp of the full moon, we have the (truly) good fortune to be welcoming renowned DJ and friend, Jesse Buck—AKA CACAO BOY—to our local, Ecstatic Dancefloor. Visionary, producer, and host of one of Toronto's most creative and loved Ecstatic Dances (Chocolate Groove), come expecting a DJ set masterfully handled—artfully combining melodic sublimity with a delightful dose of those deep and dirty beats we know ya'll want.

It feels exciting to mention that Jesse is also part of the team that seeded Ecstatic Dance in KW. Back in 2017, in collaboration with Reva Wild, they held the city's first alcohol-free conscious dance party. It's an honour to host his return to our community!

✨INTRODUCING OUR DJ: CACAOBOY

With a yogi's spirit and a DJ's soul, Jesse Buck transcends boundaries as a Community Visionary, Event Producer, Coach, Teacher, and Sound Healer. With deep love and reverence for cacao, he guides others on transformative journeys, while igniting the collective spirit and nurturing expressions of unity with a global community.

As a DJ, Jesse artfully crafts soundscapes tailored to the occasion, infusing his sets with intention and purpose. Seamlessly traversing the realm of Global Grooves, he transports listeners to diverse states of ecstasy and bliss. Brace yourself for an auditory journey that merges deep Tribal Grooves, House beats, Sacred Basslines, Techno rhythms, and transcendental sounds, each set an invitation to explore the depths of your being.

✨OPENING WARM-UP:

Leading our opening warm-up, REVA WILD will be facilitating our transition from the everyday into a more relaxed, receptive, grounded space—allowing us to more freely engage with the offering of Ecstatic Dance.

Reva is an international facilitator and relationship coach that has been a part of the dance and transformative arts communities in Kitchener and Toronto for the past 12 years. With an academic background in relationship and trauma studies as well as professional training in dance, embodiment, sound healing, tantra and authentic relating forms, her work is inherently relational and invites participants into their full capacity to be with life and liberate their deep aliveness. You can always find her front and center, absolutely wild on the dance floor.

✨SOUND BATH and HEALING

Offered by JESSE BUCK and REVA WILD, who will be supporting our grounding and integration at the close of our dance.

During his transformative Sound Ceremonies, Jesse utilizes an array of sacred instruments, with a particular focus on crystal singing bowls meticulously tuned to the harmonious frequency of 432Hz. This harmonious resonance facilitates deep relaxation and profound healing experiences, heightened by guided meditations that guide participants into transcendent states.

✨ARTIST SHOWCASE:

Featuring TIFFANY ROWAN, curator and creator of this month's aesthetic blessing.

Tiffany is a newly emerging, fluid artist, bridging her visions with many disciplines, including painting, poetry, crystal jewelry, dancing, singing, and energy work.

Endeavoring to arrange the infinite into finite through her paintings, her works aim to carry you through alternate dimensions and back. She's excited to be part of this Ecstatic Dance and share in co-creating this magical experience with everyone!
