About the Event
Come and explore innovations predicted and inspired by science fiction.
Some science fiction writers try to predict the future. Some do it by coincidence. And some of them directly inspire the future. Submarines, organ transplants, cell phones and the internet were all the stuff of science fiction. Now, they're part of our reality. Explore books and art from our Merril Collection that depict innovations that started as science fiction at this exhibit.
Free. All are welcome and no ticket is required.
Located in the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation & Fantasy , on the 3rd floor of the Lillian H. Smith Branch .
The exhibit can be viewed during the Merril Collection's open hours. It runs from Sunday, May 11 to Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Are you an educator or group leader? We also offer group visits and exhibit talks! Contact the Merril Collection at 416-393-7748 or email lsmestaff@tpl.cafor more information.
