About the Event

Learn how to create immersive media installations with projectors and basic video editing

This hands-on workshop is designed for the general public and no prior experience in film, or technology is required. Whether you are an artist, storyteller, student, educator, or simply someone curious about new ways to share stories, this workshop offers an accessible and welcoming introduction to the world of immersive video and documentary installations. We invite participants to consider how stories can unfold across space, through light, sound, image, and gesture.

Moving beyond the flatness of the screen, we will explore how moving images can shape an environment, shift perception and encourage interaction.

Throughout this session, participants will use original video, soundscapes and archival materials to create layered installations that encourage viewers to walk through, linger and reflect. You will learn the basic tools of editing, sound integration and projection setup, all presented in a clear, supportive manner. Group discussions and demonstrations will provide a backdrop for shared exploration with the goal of embracing experimentation, intuition and the richness of process. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to step away from the conventions of linear storytelling and into a multidimensional experience, one that invites participants to reimagine what a story can be, and how it can be shared.

Facilitated by Roberto Santaguida, a video artist and documentarian with over a decade of experience creating works that blend personal reflection with immersive storytelling. His practice centers on amplifying underrepresented narratives and finding meaning in the quiet, often overlooked details of daily life.
