Spend your Sunday morning making a tangible impact on Toronto's waterfront. As part of Luminato's Conversation Series, this beach cleanup and art-making experience invites you to engage with environmental issues in a hands-on, creative way.
Join ecologists from Swim Drink Fish to learn about microplastics—their impact, how to identify them, and the role we can all play in reducing pollution. Then, take direct action by helping to clean the shoreline, contributing to making our waters more swimmable, drinkable, and fishable.
Following the cleanup, award-winning artist and maker Merle Harley will lead a workshop transforming collected waste into artwork. This creative process serves as a reflection on environmental responsibility and the power of collective action.
This event is inspired by THAW, a featured program at Luminato Festival, which explores the urgency of climate action and the ways in which art and activism intersect.
