About the Event
The JAX Urban Book Fest (JUBF) is an annual event celebrating authors, readers, and writers in Northeast Florida.
The JAX Urban Book Fest (JUBF) is an annual event, started by published author Dr. V Brooks Dunbar, “Dr. V,” and DREAMWEEK INC., a registered 501 (c)3 nonprofit agency with a mission to promote social progress and community engagement through the lens of Dr. King's dream. Each January, DREAMWEEK INC. hosts DREAMWEEK JAX to showcase Jacksonville Florida as the Dream City of the millennia in culture, arts, business, and social progress.
The 3rd Annual JAX Urban Book Fest is scheduled for Saturday, January 24, 2026 at James Weldon Johnson Park, 135 W Monroe St, Jacksonville, FL 32202 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This event will feature the following:
- Author Showcase to include authors of various genres and book signings.
- Networking with other book enthusiasts and authors.
- Sponsored exhibitors to include book industry professionals and local community resources.
- Masterclass Sessions for aspiring authors.
- Activities for children including a free book giveaway for each child in attendance.
- Silent Auction with proceeds benefiting DREAMWEEK INC.
We are thrilled to welcome acclaimed authors and attendees from all over the country. Proceeds from JUBF events contribute to supporting the professional development of creative voices in our community and future scholarships. All revenue, along with the generosity of our sponsors, also helps keep our book festival free and open to all.
