About the Event

We welcome all interested stakeholders to attend the exciting cadre of the 2025 Annual Meeting presenters.
The 2025 ASEMFL Meeting is organized by the ASEMFL Annual Meeting Planning Committee (Christine Schmidt(chair),Hortensia Amaro,Yogi Goswami,Gregory Boebinger, Sudipta Seal, Ann Salamone,Angela Laird, Norma Alcantar,Pamela Soltis)
We welcome all interested stakeholders (faculty, industry, government professionals, postdocs, students, and community members) to attend the 2025 Annual Meeting.
The Annual Meeting will be held at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, 9907 Universal Blvd, Orlando, FL 32819. The Annual Meeting hotel is Rosen Centre, 9840 International Dr., Orlando, FL 32819. Shuttle service will be provided between the hotel and the meeting venue; parking will also be available at the meeting location.
The annual meeting will featureDr. Holden Thorp, AAAS Editor-in-Chief of Science,as the keynote speaker. Dr. Thorp will join the stage with Dr. Mary Woolley, President and CEO of Research!America research advocacy alliance, and David Super, Georgetown University Professor of Law, to help us engage in a critical discussion on “Navigating the Evolving Landscape in Higher Education Research”. This will be a timely and important conversation for all!
The meeting will feature other exciting sessions on adapting to changes in Florida's aquifers, springs, and coasts, forging resilience in space, and insights into the National High Magnetic Field Lab and its role in advancing materials, energy, and health in Florida. The meeting will include the induction of new ASEMFL members – please join us in celebrating our newest members! The Rising Stars and Trainee Poster Sessions will also be featured at the 2025 Annual Meeting.
New Additions include a speed mentoring session for our trainees, Rising Stars, and younger attendees to connect with ASEMFL and National Academies members and a session on the “National Academies 101” to provide insights into expectations for nominations and to discuss building the pipeline of Florida members in the National Academies.
The Induction Ceremony for new ASEMFL members will happen at the beginning of the meeting, November 7, 2025.
