A comedy show to raise funds to support the victims of the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival tragedy
Hello/Kamusta,
On April 26, a terrible tragedy happened at the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver when multiple people were killed and injured after being struck by a vehicle. It's an event that has deeply saddened and shocked the Filipino community in Canada and across the world.
The Filipino culture is a rich, vibrant tapestry that operates on the idea of "kapwa" - which means "shared identity". We are all connected and are one. We look out for one another.
Something else that Filipinos pride ourselves on is our sense of humor. The ability to use laughter to heal and gain strength from.
Join me, James Roque, as your host, as well as a lineup of Toronto's best comedians from all walks of life, as we raise funds to help support the victims and survivors of this traumatic event by doing the thing we love the most - comedy.
