About the Venue:

Festival Japan has been an important supporter of jazz events for many years. A popular destination for business and regular diners alike, Festival Japan is well-known for its friendly and efficient staff, inviting atmosphere, and especially, their menu. Owners Samantha Liu and Gordon Gu explain: "Like most Japanese, we believe that food should satisfy all the senses. That is why we take great care in the preparation of our food, and make sure that it is beautifully presented. We use the freshest ingredients combined with the best seasoning to delight the eyes and stimulate the taste buds."

About the Band:

The Stay Tuned Restez-a-l'ecoute band was formed by jazz pianist/journalist/filmmaker Karl Nerenberg over a decade ago, delighting audiences with an appealing and entertaining repertoire ever since.

Joining Karl this evening will be a frequent collaborator, the energetic vocalist Michèle Castonguay, and Sam Shroeter--a rising star on Ottawa's music scene--on clarinet and saxophone (and the occasional vocal), while bassist Neil Sealy and drummer Donovan Allen expertly lock down the rhythms. Special guest for this evening will be classical and jazz violinist (and theatrical improviser), Laura Nerenberg
