About the Event

Does Christmas have pagan roots? Do other holidays? Should Christians incorporate modern cultural norms as our own, or be set apart?

Did Christianity steal Christmas from Saturnalia? The Winter Solstice? Are Christmas trees actually Druid? And should Christians appropriate cultural ideals/norms/rhythms into our own practices or should be be set apart from the world? Whether it's how we celebrate the holidays, to what media we take in, how we spend our money, how we talk, or our views on sexuality, where is the line between being in the world, and of the world?

Austin Freeman will be arguing that no, Christmas was not borrowed from pagan roots. And [other speaker TBD] will be taking the perspective that it was.
