About the Event

Join us for prayers, music, and sacred readings from 12:30pm to 1pm, followed by a discussion on the theme of the day's devotional program.

Devotional programs of prayers and sacred scripture are held inside the Temple Auditorium every day at 12:30 p. m. and 5:30 p. m. and are usually brief--lasting about 10 to 15 minutes. They are informal and without rituals. There is no clergy in the Bahá'í Faith and no sermons or speeches are given in the Temple.

The devotional programs held on Sundays at 12:30 p. m. are about 30 minutes long, include a cappela singing, and have a written program for attendees to follow along.

Afterwards, at about 1:10 p. m., attendees are invited to the lower level of the Welcome Center for light refreshments and a brief discussion about the theme of that day's devotional program. We ask: "What did you think of the sacred scriptures that were read in the devotional program today?" "Were any of the passages or prayers particularly meaningful to you or did they raise any questions?"

We end at 1:45 p. m. but folks often stay for informal conversations until about 2:00 p. m. or so.

FYI - The Sunday devotional programs include excerpts from Bahá'í Scripture, and often Sacred Writings of other Divine Educators, such as Krishna, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad, are pre-selected by the House of Worship staff and read aloud by local community members. Examples of devotional program themes include: "Hope, Trust, and Faith", "God is Within; Seek and Ye Shall Find", "The Prophets of God are One", "Let There Be Peace on Earth", "Transform Weakness into Strength", "Praise and Thanksgiving", and many more...
