About the Event

A community art project building connection, care and resistance for marginalized ppl

Hi friends!
I'd like to launch an on-going Solidarity Quilt project.

This project is in solidarity with BIPOC communities in the Lower Mainland.

I am, as I am sure many of you are, deeply frustrated by the growing anti-immigration sentiment and racial tension in our country and in the US. I feel grief over it and I believe now more than ever in the power of community and collective expression & healing.

The first step is to gather.

You're warmly invited to join me for the first sewing circle and help shape this collaborative work of art. My goal would be to gather monthly on the last Sunday of each month from 5-8 PM until the quilt is complete.

This is a welcoming space for folks of all backgrounds and skill levels ... come to learn, share stories, stitch, and connect.

I'll have some basic materials and instructions available (mostly from the clothing swaps). As the quilt grows, I hope it becomes a tapestry of our shared histories, hopes, and resistance.

Follow me to stay updated as the project unfolds
