About the Event

In this two-session course, held on November 22 and 29 from 10 to 2, you will hook "A Day at Hunts Lake."

Thank you so much for your interest in our beloved Nova Scotian Heritage Craft. As a

certified teacher of the Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia and the daughter of a master

rug hooker, it would be my honor to teach you about the history of rug hooking, with its

many beautiful stories and rich history. Also, the wonders of wool, the tools required,

types of backing available, and various techniques and tricks to create a beautiful

heirloom for yourself and/or your loved ones.

You will be provided with a complete kit of the above: which includes the

pattern on linen backing, a hoop, all the wool that is needed and ready to use, the

instruction sheet, and one-on-one instruction, as well as a hook (most important). If you

already have a hoop or frame, please let me know. We want to make sure you are

prepared for hooking wool fabric. All in all, it will be a fun 2 days of learning, laughing,

and the enjoyment of living our legacy for $185 for members and $195 for

non-members.

After registering at the Eventbrite Site…

Ellen Tancock-Hamilton, the Certified Rug Hooking Teacher, will get in touch with you.

This class is open to all levels of rug hooking, but geared towards beginner level. You will

learn so much about the wonders of this beautiful craft.

Please come to class with the following items:

● Scribbler or paper for taking notes

● Pen or pencil

● Small, sharp scissors that can cut thicker wool fabric

● A large bag to carry your frame, wool, etc., home in

● Reading glasses, if required, to do fine work, LOL, I wear them!

● A big smile and sense of adventure!

● Let's get hooking!

You may want to bring your own coffee or a water bottle, and a bag lunch, or there are

restaurants nearby.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. I look forward to meeting you and

sharing the wonders of beautiful wool and this wondrous Nova Scotian heritage craft.

Let's get hooking!
